Weight Gains and Losses

Weight gains and losses are legendary and utterly frustrating to hear about.  We keep asking ourselves, why!? and then we go back to the old habits. We're so busy doing whatever is put in front of us, it's easy to get into ruts.
Sometimes humor is a great way to break old habits.  My daughter told me her shampoo was causing her to gain weight! I was stumped until she said, "The label says, Use for extra volume and body and it was running down my body! No wonder I'm gaining weight!" While I was blinking my eyes trying to take this in, without a beat she continued, "That's why I'm using dish soap in the shower- the label says, Dissolves fat that is difficult to remove!"

Humor, like intuition, takes us out of our ruts with a new perspective and refreshes our thinking. We learn about ourselves. The better you know yourself, the freer you are from weight gains and losses.

This is how intuitive eating works to stop weight swings.  It's easy because using intuition is being plugged into yourself. Your appetite is personal, just like your fingerprints or DNA. Eating is as natural as breathing and as important for your health and energy level. Instead of fighting with your body, you learn to respond to it.
Your body is not a machine and you are not generic.
That’s why only you know your best eating choices
It's intuitive to be loyal to yourself.
Intuitive eating tools keep things in perspective. They make your boundaries and personal priorities an important part of eating choices. You see yourself differently. Learn to eat intuitively and learn about yourself. It's awesome.

It's natural to recognize physical cues you're getting with your 6th sense with intuitive cues, like curiosity and dignity. They are the handrail to grab on, to keep you on track and away from yo-yo weight frustration.

The next time you feel you're slipping and about to yo-yo, think about being loyal to you. Decide to be loyal to your body and in your heart you will feel something. That feeling, created by your loyalty, is your intuition.

Try it.

Instant Gratification and Diet Hype

  • Change that lasts requires a long-term commitment from you. Instant gratification is a myth.
  • Diets promise we'll lose 5-10 lbs a week and have our ideal body in a month. The truth is: it won't happen.
  • Losing 5-10 lbs by starving yourself now will boomerang and end up around your middle by April.  Aren't you tired of losing and gaining weight?
Believing the myth of instant gratification means ignoring what's real. If something sounds to good to be true, it is too good to be true. If you believe you will get permanent results by ignoring your body, mind and gut - you're being manipulated. That's how you get trapped by dieting. Instead, you can connect with your body.
  • Your body is more efficient than the most advanced super-computer.
  • Your body is always working to heal and create energy.
  • Your body is always a reflection of what you sense.
Long-term weigh loss and real nourishment is  achieved when you're in sync with yourself. Intuitive eating keeps relating to yourself with an open mind. It feels liberating.
  • Make a commitment to yourself. Be determined.
  • Connect with messages from your body and senses at mealtime. Physical needs and food boundaries will become obvious.
  • Go for real gratification.  That will make you feel good.
Don't buy-in to hype about the need to eat what, you don't want ,when you're not hungry, because of a scale or a clock or a book. It's a myth to manipulate you to buy-in to a program. Everyone's body DNA is unique and you need to respond to yours. The answers are very personal & custom tailored what your body needs.

Don't buy-in to media hype about instant gratification.
Since your body is a natural system, it requires time to process change.
Only slow progress endures because you're organic. Trust yourself.
Long-term organic change takes determination and trusting your senses. It takes time.
Mental and emotional effort burn calories.
  • Eating intuitively  tunes-in to your your answers. Try using your senses and intuitive tools like determination to keep an open mind about what you're really hungry for.  You will know yourself better and learn to recognize when you're hungry and when you're not. That's instant gratification.

Every day is unpredictable.

Every day is unpredictable. What happens decides what we much genuinely need to eat. For example- the weather, stress, happiness, and sleep all impact our organic self. We are intuitively responding with our senses to everything, all the time.

Be gentle, you are organic.
Organic means: not artificial.
To be your ideal weight: work with your body, don’t fight it, or ignore it.

Feed yourself what nourishes, not what ‘fills you up’. Nourishing ourselves is done with food, and with ideas. It is done by connecting with our 6 senses when you eat. Our senses work with our mind and body to keep us clear about what is nourishing. Let intuition be your guide and trust yourself.

We each have a physical and a mental process of growing that cannot be rushed. We can’t be rushed to change our thinking, our weight, or our style. The first step is effort. Be proud that you are seeking answers and knowledge. That means you’re smart and you’re cool.

While you’re thinking, ask your self:
Do I have eating patterns?
What gets in my way of supporting my health and fitness when I eat?
How can I approach eating differently?

Often, when thinking about losing and maintaining weight, we are easy prey to doubts or fear that we won’t be able to stick it out.  These self- defeating thinking habits interfere with responding to what our body needs. There is no such thing as a quick fix that endures. Every dieter knows this from experience.
Don't feed your self doubt or fear.
When we listen to our senses, we are feeding ourselves compassion, and understanding.
This is empowering!

Your body is not a machine and you are not generic. That’s why only you know your best eating choices. Use your eyes to see what you want. Connect with how your body feels. Think about what’s in your best interest. Respond to your life as it’s happening. Plan to feed your self in a healthy way to maintain your weight. That is a nourishing thought.  It is you respecting your self.

Your body cannot be rushed into change. To lose weight or maintain weight loss, be gentle with your self. Being gentle is the secret of self - control.

Enjoy eating with all of your senses and you will eat less.  That's a promise.
